La Zanzara - La Zanzara is a super cosy café that offers a wide variety of breakfast options, ranging from traditional Italian pastries and croissants to tasty omelets and sandwiches.
Is there any bad coffee in Italy? I don't think so, La Zanzara have delicious coffee made with high quality beans. They also have a selection of freshly squeezed juices and smoothies, perfect for those who prefer a healthier breakfast option.
Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria - Okey, you probably heard about the Roscioli family. Now they also have a coffee shop. Roscioli Caffè Pasticceria is located in the heart of Rome, just a stone's throw away from the famous Campo de' Fiori market. This café is a perfect destination for breakfast if you have a sweet tooth but also if you just looking for a quick coffee.
Faro Caffè - Faro Caffè have a wide variety of coffee options, including traditional Italian espresso and cappuccino, as well as more modern creation like cold brew and nitro coffee. They also have exceptional good bread and pastries.
Want more then a coffee and a cornetto for breakfast? Then these are the places for you.
Ciampini - Okey, soo Ciampini are my all time favorite in Rome. For breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner. I can easily sit here the whole day. Their breakfast options include a range of traditional Italian pastries and cakes, as well as more savory options like avocado toast with poached eggs. Their breakfast menu also includes a selection of fresh juices and smoothies.
Barnum - You want the classic avocado and American pancake picture? Then this is the place for you. But don't you worry they have the Italian classics also.
Caffè Perù - Caffè Perù is a super popular watering hole that opened in 1933. This place is always packed and in the afternoon many people come here for drinks also. But in the morning here are mostly locals that are having their morning coffee by the counter. Or outside with a cigarette.
La Buvette - You can come here for lunch and dinner also but if you want to eat a breakfast and have many options this is the place for you. The Italians are standing by the counter having a quick coffee and then off to work. But on the weekends they are here for the brunch.
Marigold - In Ostiense you will this italo- scandi place. Marigold is a bakery and restaurant where you can find cinnamon buns and coffee for example. And of course sourdough bread as the baker are from Denmark. The design at Marigold are very Scandinavian and so is the menu with just a few seasonal dishes.
Classic Italian breakfast or something more savory?
Sant’ Eustachio - The café is located just a few steps away from the MAGICAL Pantheon and is one of the oldest coffeehouses in Rome. Café Sant'Eustachio has become a true institution in Rome and in the morning there is always a long queue with people waiting to get their morning coffee fix.
One of the popular items on the menu is the café's signature Gran Caffè, which is a blend of Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. The coffee is served in small cups with a thick layer of crema on top, and that is how you know that it's a well made espresso.
Regoli Pasticceria - Want to know a secret? Go to the bakery first and pick out their famous maritozzo and the crostata di visciole, a tart made with sour cherries and then head to the café. So that when you sip on your cappuccino your pastries will arrive through a secret door!

Casa Manfredi - Casa Manfredi is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Rome, just a few steps away from the Colosseum with French-italian pastries. And both croissants and cornettos and don't forget the coffee. Casa Manfredi is a super tiny place so come early.
Necci dal 1924 - Necci is a historic bar and restaurant located in the Pigneto neighborhood, established in 1924 Necci is an iconic institution that has served generations of Romans.
Necci dal 1924 has a cosy outdoor patio area where you can enjoy your breakfast or your cocktail if you come here later. Neccis breakfast menu is served daily, from early morning until midday so you have the time to sleep in if you like.
Cugino - Cugino are the restaurant at The Hoxton Hotel, which by the way is a GREAT hotel. Stay there when in Rome. The breakfast here are so tasty. You can order the Italian type of breakfast, espresso and a cornetto or you can go for the American big breakfast if you like.
